If the handle for your Instagram Business account is not displayed as an option to connect after you have entered the credentials for the Facebook account you believe it is linked to, there are two possible reasons:

  1. Your Instagram account is not registered as Business. If you are unsure of whether this is the case or not, you can log into your account and confirm. To do this, go to your profile, click “Edit Profile” (to the right of your profile picture), and check that there is a “Business Information” section that lists your linked Facebook Business page, Business Category, and Contact options; if this section is not there then your account is not a Business account. Alternatively, you can view any of your recent posts, and if you do not see an option to promote or view insights on the post, you do not have a Business account.
  2. The Facebook account whose credentials you entered is not an admin of the Facebook Page that your Instagram Business account is connected to. To confirm if this is the case, you should check that the “Page” listed under “Business Information” in the “Edit Profile” settings of your Instagram account is one of the pages listed in the “Pages” section of your Facebook account. Your Facebook account must also have admin access to the Facebook Page that the Instagram account is linked to, which can be checked in the settings of the Facebook page, under “Page Roles”.

If you have both confirmed that you do have an Instagram Business account, and that the Facebook credentials you signed in with belong to a profile with admin access to the Instagram account’s Facebook page, you should contact us to further explore why you are unable to connect your account with Sylo.
